Program

The Vista Murrieta High School Choir Program is a place of inclusion, growth, and musical excellence. Through performing, campus activities, and community connections, we strive to guide our students to fulfill our motto of “Find Your Voice”.

About Our Director

Zachary Krug has served as the choir director, Guitar Instructor, and AP Music Theory Teacher at VMHS since 2019. Mr. Krug also serves as the Assistant Director of the Inland Master Chorale.

Zachary Krug is a recipient of the 2024 Crystal Apple Award for VMHS, the Thelma Beardsley Music Education Award, and the Phi Mu Alpha Collegiate Honor Award. He performs solo throughout Southern California and with renowned musical artists such as Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban. Zach Krug holds a B.M. in Music Education and an M.M. in Vocal Chamber Music from the University of Redlands. He resides in Menifee, CA, with his wife, Adrianna, son, Parker, and golden retriever, Lucy.

More About the VMHS Choir Program

The Vista Murrieta High School Choir Program boasts three choirs: Concert Choir (Choir 1), Treble Choir (Choir 2), and Chamber Choir (Choir 3). Each year, the program performs a wide variety of musical genres and styles in concerts, festivals, and other community events. The choirs at VMHS consistently receive superior ratings at SCVA and Music in the Parks festivals. They are regularly invited to collaborate with other local choral organizations, such as the Inland Master Chorale and Temecula Valley Master Chorale.

All VMHS students are welcome to join the program regardless of past experience or talent. All new and transfer students begin their journey in Concert Choir where they learn the fundamentals of what it means to be a singer and team player in the VMHS Choir Program.

Above all, the members of the VMHS Choir Program strive to be model citizens of the school motto of C.L.A.S.S.: Character, Leadership, Attitude, Scholarship, and Service.
